Inaugural Director of Undergradute Programs in Psychology

Dear All,

I am pleased to announce that Dr. William Stern has been appointed as the inaugural Director of Undergraduate Programs in Psychology, effective August 1, 2025.

This newly established leadership role provides strategic direction and operational oversight for our undergraduate academic offerings, including the major, minors, and certificates in Psychology. As Director, Dr. Stern will lead efforts in curriculum development and assessment, academic advising coordination, student engagement, and School-wide collaboration for our Psychology curriculum. He will also oversee course scheduling and chair the Psychology Curriculum Committee. The Director reports to the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies and will work closely with the Directors of related interdisciplinary undergraduate programs, including Neuroscience and Arts & Technology, as well as our upcoming Computation & Cognition program.

Dr. Stern brings to this position a deep understanding of our undergraduate programs and a strong commitment to student success. Since joining Georgia Tech, he has played a central role in shaping many aspects of undergraduate education in our School, including curriculum design, course scheduling, instructional support, and academic advising initiatives. As a member of the TEAM committee, he has been instrumental in mentoring instructors and supporting high-quality teaching. His collaborative approach, institutional knowledge, and passion for education make him exceptionally well suited for this role.
