The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) at Georgia Tech facilitates and encourages opportunities for undergraduate students to participate in research. Watch their website for information on future activities, projects, symposia, and workshops. Also, look for funding opportunities like the President’s Undergraduate Research Award (PURA).
Many schools have summer workshops where you can get experience with research in areas not represented at Georgia Tech. These typically provide room and board; sometimes travel expenses, and even a small stipend. Application deadlines for these are typically in February and March.
